the short version
bffr is a reality checker. you submit something, ten models weigh it against live sources, and you get a verdict with receipts. we keep the minimum needed to run that, bill it, and make it more accurate. we do not sell your data and we do not run ads.
what we store
your email and account id; the text, link or file you submit for a check; the verdict, confidence and receipts produced for it; the plan you're on and your subscription state; coarse product events (which screens and features get used). uploaded media is processed for the check and is not published anywhere unless you share the verdict yourself.
what we never store
card numbers — payments run through stripe and we only see the subscription status. we do not store raw ip addresses; anonymous rate limits use a salted one-way hash. we do not store contacts, precise location, health data, or anything from your device beyond what you submit.
who sees a check
checks are private to your account by default. a verdict becomes publicly readable only when you create a share link for it, and only that verdict is exposed. gallery reactions are anonymous — they are tied to a random per-browser id, not to your identity.
processors
we send the content of a check to the model providers seated on the tribunal and to a live web-search provider so the verdict is grounded in sources. they process it to return a result; they are not permitted to use it to train their models. hosting, database and auth run on our cloud provider; billing runs on stripe.
learning
we tune accuracy from metadata only — which verdict came back, how confident it was, whether you disagreed, and how each model scored against the outcome. your submitted content is not used to train anything.
keeping and deleting
checks stay in your history until you delete them or close your account. deleting your account in settings wipes your profile, your checks, your feedback and your product events, then removes the login itself. that is immediate and cannot be undone.
children
bffr is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
